This New Year

I feel drawn to write a little something at the turn of this New Year, 2017. Are you making New Years Resolutions, new ideas, shifts, changes, and releasing old patterns? These are all wonderful and powerful things to do. After the Holidays, I feel like its time to nourish myself and others even deeper, to get quiet and feel my next moves. In this new year, I'd like to get clear and focused, move further towards my dreams. At the beginning of this new year, I feel a lot of pressure and lethargy, perhaps because it is a collective time of change. There is so much I see for the future, so much I want to change. At times, I remain so much in my head about things, instead of going out and doing something. In my process right now, I am getting quite and using my down time to mediate, initiate daily yoga practice and write my dreams and visions. Instead of overwhelming myself with what I want to change, I wonder if I shifted this tactic, changed my perspective and used this time for reflection and meditation. We can't change all of our bad habits in a day, but we can monitor and observe, and use our practice for making small shifts for a brighter future. Small shifts are big shifts. One day the subtleties turn into transformations with ease. That is my prayer. What if in this moment everything is already perfect, just as it is. What if you got so quiet and out of your head about this life, you could actually feel the rise and fall of your breathe. These are my contemplations, as I make my daily shifts to align myself. It's nice to feel what is already strong in me and use that as fuel to help me get to my future goals. Instead of tax myself on, 'change this, change that,' what if I was enough, enough in this moment.  Breathing 1, Breathing 2, Breathing 3.
